The Honolulu Ocean Safety Commission has appointed Kurt Lager to serve as the first-ever Chief of Ocean Safety on Friday.

Interim Ocean Safety Chief Kurt Lager will be able to remove the “interim” from his title as the Ocean Safety Commission selected him to permanently fill in the chief role on Dec. 19.
