The painting's floral design and a farmer growing celery reflect what was happening in the neighborhood in the 1800s, says artist Katie Lukes.
Muralist and tattoo artist Chris Orta's painting stretches from just above street level to more than 20 feet in the air.
The project, Called La Herencia Apartments, will create 22 units of affordable housing in a neighborhood that's seen housing costs spike in recent years.
