Mamdani's inauguration as New York's mayor on Jan. 1 will be highlighted by a public block party on Broadway, his transition team says.

New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani published a Hanukkah video Dec. 20, featuring Emmy- and Tony-winning actor Mandy Patinkin and his family. In the video, Mamdani is seen making latkes, lighting menorah candles and participating in Hanukkah blessings.

Mamdani announced Wednesday he’s appointing Jahmila Edwards, a top official in the city’s DC 37 union, as his intergovernmental affairs chief.
